The University of Colima, through its Faculty of Letters and Communication, offers the Academic Spanish Program for Foreigners (EAPE), which allows students to participate in three different levels of Spanish language learning: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Each group consists of a maximum of 20 students.
The EAPE is primarily aimed at students who, due to study or personal needs, require to learn or perfect their Spanish.
Courses in the EAPE start in three periods: January, May, and September. Each course lasts for 12 weeks with a workload of 23 hours per week. The contents cover grammar, composition, conversation, and culture; literature is included in the intermediate and advanced levels.
Complementary Activities of the EAPE:
- Orientation and Induction Session at the University of Colima.
- Campus Facilities Tour.
- Visits to Historical, Touristic, and Cultural Sites.
Admission Requirements for the EAPE
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Submit a letter of motivation to join the EAPE program.
- Letter of nomination from the home university (if applicable).
- Copy of passport valid for at least 1 year.
- Cover the corresponding fees.
- Valid medical insurance for the student's entire stay.
- Complete the Student Application Form.
- Take a placement exam (once the student is in Colima).
Costs
- The EAPE fee per course is USD $1,650 dollars, covering: registration, a 12-week course, books, and cultural activities.
- An additional payment of USD $150.00 for administrative costs.
- *NOTE: Does not include meals and accommodation.
