Dirección General de Relaciones Internacionales y Cooperación Académica

J-1 Internship Program
Oklahoma State University ofrece prácticas remuneradas para estudiantes de gastronomía con facilidades para encontrar alojamiento sin ningún costo y con una duración de 5 meses.

Work Opportunities

Under the J-1 Internship Program, you will be offered a minimum of 32 hours per week in an internship with University Dining Services (UDS). You'll have the chance to learn either front-of-house or back-of-house operations in a large-scale dining environment. With over 32 individual dining concepts, you will rotate between different concepts, giving you a well-rounded internship experience not found elsewhere. Additionally, catering experience for both large and small events is available to the majority of the interns.

All interns will be offered an official, internationally recognized ServeSafe course and certification as part of the program. You will have the chance to prepare meals with top-of-the-line equipment in modern kitchens that are superior to industry standards.

Housing Provided

As part of the internship, you will live on campus, right in the center of all the action. You can immerse yourself in a diverse university community that's rich with intercultural experiences.

Accommodation is provided at no cost as part of the program, along with a meal credit for each shift worked and $7.50 per hour wage.

Program Length

Each internship lasts at least one American academic semester. Internships can be completed in the following time frames:

  • August - December (fall semester)
  • January - May (spring semester)
  • August - May (full academic term)

At the end, participants will return to their country of origin with enhanced skills, certifications and a diverse perspective, ready to enter the work force.
