Purpose Component

The Purpose Component integrates the following sub‐components: teaching, scientific, culture dissemination, and extension of services.

The teaching sub‐component is constituted as a frame of reference for planning and institutional development through incorporating the theories of social, humanist, behavioral, cognitivist, and constructivist interaction, among others, upon which the university education is founded and serves as a basis for establishing the models.

  • Educational: It establishes the basis to be able to offer training at the different educational levels in formal, non‐formal (distance learning and non‐attendance) and co‐educational modalities.

  • Academic: It establishes an applicant’s profile; learning techniques and problem‐based teaching; situated learning; use of new technologies and the use of constructivist techniques; the assessment system for learning and skills acquired by the students; the academic staff’s role; the organization of collegiate bodies; the profile of graduation and the generic process to be developed in order to guide the duties of the training processes.
  • Curricular: Built on the cognitive‐contextual humanistic basis: based on skills, flexible implementation of the base curriculum, formative evaluation, comprehensive training, scientific thinking, significant learning, revision based on context; objectives by aptitudes‐abilities and values‐attitudes; and cognitive and ecological contextual paradigm.

The cooperation of the scientific sub‐component privileges the early contact, inclusion, and involvement of the students in different projects coordinated by the researchers of our institution, undertaken in order to contribute to the transformation of the society, within the frame of social responsibility, and the protection of intellectual property of both students and scholars.

The sub‐component of cultural dissemination and extension of services contributes to the transformation of the reality of our environment through the training of responsible, enterprising, professional, competent, well‐informed citizens, with a strong sense of justice and social solidarity that allows the society of our state and country, to create a sustainable future.

The interrelation of teaching‐research‐cultural dissemination‐extension is the basis to achieve the comprehensive training of our students to evince in their level of professional knowledge; scientific thinking; appreciation and mastery of arts; culture and sport; physical, entrepreneurial, and civic culture; healthy habits and their psychosocial development.
