Created in 1950, the National Association of Universities
and Institutions of Higher Education is a non-governmental
organization which comprises 134 private and public institutions
committed to their comprehensive development in the fields
of teaching, research, and promotion of culture and services.
The members of ANUIES offer educational services to 80%
of graduate and undergraduate students in the country.
The mission of ANUIES is to contribute to the comprehensive
performance of the system of higher education and the
comprehensive development of member institutions within
the framework of democratic principles, plurality, equity,
and freedom. The accomplishment of these objectives will
result from the creation and promotion of educational
initiatives, the proposal of relevant State policies,
and strategic studies intended to predict primary future
trends and enhance the decision-making approaches which
will consolidate higher education in Mexico.
