All students of the University of Colima have to do a so-called "Servicio Social" as part of their studies in which they need to complete 50 hours per semester for the university.

Enrique and Iris
Students that are studying for their degree in physics or mathematics within the Faculty of Science, or another science subject elsewhere have the opportunity to do their social service at the Centre of Exchange and Research in Volcanology, where they learn more about the local volcanoes, their importance to society and volcanology in general.
