Centre of Exchange and Research in Volcanology

The Centre of Exchange and Research in Volcanology operates with the following objectives:

Research – carry out research projects to improve our understanding of volcanic systems
Exchange – provide the opportunity for students from all over the world to assist with research projects based on active volcanoes. Facilitate the interaction between them and the students of Colima.
Monitoring – improve the quality of monitoring of Volcán de Colima by implementing new techniques.
Education – provide opportunities for students to visit the natural laboratory provided by Volcán de Colima, learn various field techniques of monitoring and study, appreciate some of the problems associated with risk assessment and hazard management and learn how to analyze various types of data.

The Centre operates within the Faculty of Science in the University of Colima and has various active collaborations.
