The University’s School of Literature and Communication offers the Academic Spanish for Foreigners Program (EAPE), which enables the students to enroll in three different proficiency levels in order to learn Spanish: beginners’ level, intermediate level and the advanced level. There are a maximum number of 20 students per group.
EAPE is mainly intended for those students who, because need to learn or improve their Spanis. The EAPE courses are given three times every year: in January, May and September. EAPE runs for 12 weeks. Students take 23 hours of class per week at each level, whose contents include: grammar, writing, conversation and culture. The intermediate and advanced levels also include literature.
• An introductory session to the University of Colima.
• A tour of the campus’s facilities.
• Visits to places of historical, tourist and cultural interest.
Applicants are required to:
• Be 18 years of age or older.
• Submit a letter explaining why they wish to enroll the EAPE program.
• Submit a photocopy of their valid passport.
• Submit a letter of nomination issued by the candidate's home university.
• Take a placement test (once they are in Colima).
•Attend an interview with the EAPE's academic coordinator.
•Submit a resume.
•Pay the corresponding fees.
Fees
EAPE’s total fee is US $1,550 dollars
and it covers the following:
• Registration.
• 12-week course.
• Books.
• Visits to various places of historical and cultural interest.
EAPE’s fee does not cover lodging or meals.
